Chez George
11 rue des Canettes
75006 Paris
Description
Small, young, French bar with more of a selection of wines than beers. Upstairs is a cool, sparsely furnished, tiled room that opens out into the street. In contrast, the cellar downstairs is cosy (I wouldn't like to say cramped) and there is table service and a good selection of music.
David-Jo says: "Chez Georges is the most famous Jewish trendy bar in Paris (though not compared with the more confidential places of the rue des Rosiers). Their musical selection is Jewish, but they don't have cheese cake. Too bad."
